Keiko Smith ‘21 scored four goals against Kent to keep the girls varsity soccer team unbeaten on the year in an 8-0 win on Oct. 16.
The team got off to a fast start, with Smith scoring three goals for the Bearcats (7-0-2) in the first nine minutes of the game. Lydia Bullock ‘22 scored two goals, Louisa Essuman ‘20 recorded one, and captain Delaney Hayes ‘20 also scored one. Gigi Day ‘22 and Devin Goldstein ‘21 each had two assists.
Aside from Smith’s early three goals, Bullock scored the final goal of a twelve-minute flurry after receiving a curling pass from Day for a shot at close range. In the 19th minute, Essuman put the ball in the top of the net, and for the final goal of the half, Hayes scored at 27'.
In the second half, the final two goals were scored by Smith and Bullock at 43' and 44'. The team received valuable contributions up and down the roster, with most of the Bearcats stepping onto the pitch.
Going forward, the Bearcats play Choate on Oct. 19 and Westminster on Oct. 21.
