Erika Steeves '14 recently was named to the CoSIDA First Team Academic All-District team for her combination of strong play and high academic achievement on the Brown women's basketball team.

The award, announced last week by the College Sports Information Directors of America, recognizes a student who "must participate as a starter or an important reserve, have reached sophomore academic standing, and maintain at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average."

Steeves, a 6-2 sophomore forward from Montreal, has averaged 11.6 points and 9.1 rebounds per game for the Bears, who currently stand at 5-3 in the Ivy League and 14-7 overall. Last season, she led the team with 6.1 rebounds per game.

At Hotchkiss, Steeves earned varsity letters in soccer, basketball, volleyball, and track, and earned the Volleyball Prize and the Basketball Award in her Senior year.
