Talhaoui Named Coach of the Year

Basketball coach Yassine Talhaoui has been named the NEPSAC Class A Coach of the Year in only his second year at the helm of the boys varsity program.

He joins a list of six Bearcats from this season who were honored this week by the conference. In addition to his coaching award, Miles Brewster ’20 and Xavier Wilson ’19 earned All-New England honors, and Kyle Jenkins ’20, C.J. Mitchell ’21, and Aidan Rodgers ’21 earned honorable mentions.

Talhaoui joined the team in 2016 as an assistant coach in his first year at Hotchkiss and was named head coach before the 2017-2018 season. In his first three years, the program has taken steady steps forward, including a playoff bid this season.

The Bearcats (19-6) beat Tabor in the NEPSAC quarterfinals last week before falling to Williston Northampton in the semifinals.
