On the last Saturday of September 2023, Hotchkiss varsity field hockey team had an impressive win against the Greenwich Academy.
The Bearcats started putting pressure on the opposing team early in the game, with Eleanor Helm ’25 attempting to score just 5 minutes into the first quarter. Just 6 minutes later, Eleanor with the assistance of Julia Widen ’24 was able to score a goal for her team.

The game, however, was far from being over. The competing team put most of their resources into attacking, which became especially evident in the last quarter. The Hotchkiss team was able to prevent Greenwich from scoring three times by a penalty corner, proving its outstanding defensive skills.
So far, Hotchkiss varsity field hockey team went undefeated for the four games of the season.
“Everyone is really motivated. We are on our revenge tour this year. This is how the team sees this season” – Nia Voss ’26 commented after the game.
