As we enter our winter athletics season and hit the final stretch of 2022, four Hotchkiss teams will participate in holiday tournaments locally and in Springfield and Boston.
BOYS HOCKEY
Flood-Marr Tournament, Dec. 16-18
The 57th annual Flood Marr Tournament, hosted by Noble & Greenough and Milton Academy, will take place on Friday, Dec. 16, through Sunday, Dec. 18. Friday and Sunday action will be held at Nobles’ Flood Rink, while Saturday’s slate will be at Roberts Rink at Milton Academy.

The Owen Division features Nobles, Hotchkiss, Kimball Union, and Westminster, while the Harding Division has Milton Academy, Deerfield, Phillips Andover, and Salisbury.
First up for the Bearcats will be Nobles on Friday morning at 9 a.m. Then in second-round action, the boys in blue will face off against Westminster in primetime action at 7 p.m. Both games will be played at Nobles in Dehman, MA.

GIRLS HOCKEY
PKO Holiday Tournament, Dec. 15-16
On Thursday and Friday, Dec. 15-16, the girls hockey team will travel to Watertown, CT, to participate in the 39th annual Patsy K. Odden Hockey Tournament. The Bearcats are in group A and will face round robin action against Andover, Lawrenceville, and Taft. Depending on results from the first three games, the team could play a fourth game on Friday in which they would vie either for third place or a spot in the championship game. The other side of the draw features Choate, Kent, Loomis, and Tabor.

BOYS BASKETBALL
Basketbull Hoopfest, Dec. 14-16
Boys basketball will head to Springfield, MA, Dec. 14-16 to play in the annual Basketbull Hoopfest. This will be the 11th year of the tournament, an event seen as one of the nation’s premiere prep showcases featuring some of the top teams in New England, as well as teams from as far away as Florida, Ohio, and Quebec. The annual tournament draws more than 35 prep teams and has been a hotbed for college recruitment in recent years.

First up for the boys will be fellow Connecticut prep school, St. Thomas Moore, on Thursday, Dec. 15 at 5:15 p.m.

GIRLS BASKETBALL
Ethel Walker’s Holiday Tournament, Dec. 16-17
The girls basketball team will take a quick trip over to Simsbury, CT, to participate in the annual Ethel Walker Holiday Tournament this coming weekend, Dec. 16-17. The two-day event will feature teams from across the tri-state area including Cheshire Academy, Greens Farms, Millbrook, Miss Porter’s, Westminster, Ethel Walkers, and Hotchkiss.

The Bearcats will take their 3-1 record into the holiday tournament and will tip off against tournament hosts Ethel Walkers in game one, which is set for Friday, Dec. 16 at 3 p.m.
