Theresa Yu ’19 has been selected to represent the United States on the Under-20 national team at the World Junior Ultimate Championships this summer.

A freshman at UNC, Yu was selected as one of only 24 women and 24 men out of an initial applicant pool of more than 400. The applicants were trimmed down to a group of 200 athletes who were invited to tryout camps before the final teams were named.

The world championships, set to be held in Malmö, Sweden from July 18-25, will feature more than 50 teams from 30 different countries.

At Hotchkiss, Yu earned four varsity letters in soccer and three in Ultimate Frisbee. She served as captain of both the varsity Ultimate team in her senior year and the JV team in her lower mid year. She also earned the Senior Athletic Award, the Captain’s Trophy, and the Coaches’ Award.
