Allison Brooks Janney '77 took home the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for her role in I, Tonya as the mother of figure skating champion Tonya Harding, played by Margot Robbie. This is the first Oscar win for the seven-time Emmy Award recipient.

In 2016, Janney became the first woman to receive the School's Alumni Award for her distinguished career in film, television, and theatre.
