Priyanka Kumar '19 Receives U.S. Congressional Medal for STEM Achievements

Last summer, Priyanka Kumar '19 was invited to Washington, D.C., to receive the U.S Congressional Medal, the highest award Congress can bestow upon a youth civilian, for her ongoing research and efforts to bring STEM opportunities to local communities. Kumar was also recognized by Congress as an Ambassador in STEM.

In August, Kumar was invited back to Washington as a recipient of a scholarship from the President Calvin Coolidge Foundation and was named a Coolidge Senator. She and fellow senators received an all-expense-paid trip to the Coolidge Senator Leadership Summit and were invited to visit the White House, Congress, the Chamber of the House of Representatives, and the Supreme Court, along with meeting politicians and other Washington notables.
