Faculty Positions

Working at The Hotchkiss School presents a truly enriching opportunity to teach in, learn from, engage with, and contribute to a community committed to the holistic education and development of young minds. The education that our faculty provides to students extends far beyond the framed walls of our classrooms, spilling onto the playing fields, flowing through the residential halls, and extending into the greater Hotchkiss community. To be part of this community represents a desire to not only teach eager students but to also open oneself up to the opportunity to learn from those same pupils in nearly every facet of life. Our many points of engagement with students work to create and foster a never ceasing educational experience that is only made possible in a place with the strongest of dedications to the betterment of self for the greater good. You can view our current faculty career opportunities here.

Professional Development

Faculty are strongly encouraged to apply for professional learning and development support during the school year and over the summer. In general, academic department budgets support membership in professional organizations, subscriptions to professional publications, and also support acquisition of books and other materials. When department funds are insufficient, the Dean of Faculty helps faculty attend professional seminars and expenses associated with travel to other schools or institutions. The Dean of Faculty also supports professional learning activities that occur over breaks and over the summer. The School allocates particular funds to spring break and summer professional learning and curriculum development. For this reason, funding for spring and summer projects are subject to a grant application process.
