COST: $3,800

AGE: RISING 8TH GRADERS AND OLDER

Over the past few years, “equity”, "access" and “inclusion” have become popular buzzwords, but what do they mean and how do they play a role in schools? This portal aims to provide the foundational tools for students to have a deeper understanding of equity and inclusion within educational institutions. Students will begin to reflect on the role they currently play as they work from becoming allies to activists as well as analyzing current or previous educational institutions under an equity lens. Together, we will explore topics ranging from bias & privilege to intersectionality and advocacy through videos, guest speakers, and rich literature. Along with the foundational learning, students will work together to create a workshop or professional development that can be executed within a middle school or high school setting.
