The Hotchkiss Dramatic Association is pleased to present Noël Coward’s classic comedy of manners, Hay Fever, February 15 & 16 at 7:30 p.m. and February 17 at 2:30 p.m. Parker Reed, instructor in English and theatre at The Hotchkiss School, will direct the production.
Noël Coward, an English playwright, composer, actor, and singer, earned an outsized reputation for his wit and his satire of high society. Hay Fever features some of Coward’s most memorable characters, Judith Bliss, a retired actress, her husband David, a writer, and their grown children, Simon and Sorel - and of course their unsuspecting houseguests. Hay Fever continues this season’s theme of rebellion and aims to offer the audience the gift of “Bliss”: a fantastic farce under ninety minutes.
All performances take place in Walker Auditorium, located on the lower level of the main building. Tickets are $10; $5 for students and seniors. Cash or check is accepted and patrons may buy tickets at the door; no reservations are necessary. The Sunday matinee performance will benefit a charitable organization to be announced.
