The Hotchkiss varsity football team proved to be a strong opponent against Loomis Chaffee School on Sept. 17.
The Bearcats took an immediate lead, scoring the first touchdown early in the first quarter. However, in the first half of the game Loomis was able to catch up and surpass our team by 8 points, scoring two touchdowns and two extra points.
Despite that, the Hotchkiss team didn't lose their spirit and energy, scoring their second touchdown 5 minutes into the third quarter.
In the next 10 minutes, both Hotchkiss and Loomis were able to score one touchdown each, turning the score into 21-18, with the Bearcats needing just one touchdown to surpass the competing team.
The last quarter, however, proved to be a challenging one with Loomis scoring two touchdowns, making the final score 35-20.
Despite the loss, this game was an important demonstration of the potential the Bearcats hold and the many victories that certainly await them in the future.
