Head of School Craig Bradley announced a surprise Head of School Holiday this morning, May 18, at Frank House—with help from 2023 Alumni Award recipient and CNN anchor Chris Wallace '65, as seen in the above video.

The holiday was called in honor of beloved members of the faculty and staff who will be retiring this year: Christy Cooper, Nancy Davis, Brad Faus, Ginny Faus, Ellen Fontaine, Jim Fornshell, Michael Hickey, Richard Ross, and John Wheeler. Together they represent 217 years of service to Hotchkiss, contributing to the Art Department, Business Office, Dean’s Wing, English Department, housekeeping, the Edsel Ford Memorial Library, Science Department—and in countless other ways.

Bearcats spent the day enjoying smoothies in the Student Center, playing laser tag on Bissell Common, eating snacks from a food truck, swimming in Lake Wononscopomuc, playing a variety of games, and more.
