The Hotchkiss School is pleased to announce that Maria Kimsey has accepted the role of interim chief financial and operations officer for the 2025-26 academic year, starting on July 1, 2025. She will report to Head of School Craig W. Bradley.

Kimsey's experience is extensive. Before stepping into interim positions, she spent 18 years at Mercersburg Academy as the associate head of school for finance and operations. She retired from Mercersburg in 2023. Previously, she spent 10 years as associate head for operations and chief financial officer at Park Tudor School in Indianapolis. Most recently, during the 2023-24 school year, she served as interim CFO at St. Andrew's School in Delaware.   

Her family emigrated from Cuba to the U.S. when she was a young child and settled in Indianapolis, where Kimsey grew up. She attended the Indiana University Kelley School of Business for both her undergraduate (B.S. in business with a major in accounting) and her MBA degrees. She passed the CPA exam after completing her undergraduate degree. She earned a graduate certificate in Independent School Leadership from The Johns Hopkins University. She began her career in public accounting and progressed to several corporate roles, including serving as vice president of finance for Boehringer Mannheim, now known as Roche Diagnostics. 

In her downtime, Kimsey loves to travel and spend time with her son, daughter, and grandchild, all of whom live in the American West. She will move to the Hotchkiss campus this summer, and she looks forward to being part of our community for the academic year ahead.
