Hotchkiss announces the appointment of Cathy Nadeau as the School's next chief financial and operations officer, effective July 1, reporting to the head of school. 

Nadeau has more than 25 years of finance and operations leadership experience across mission-driven educational institutions and complex global enterprises. She joins Hotchkiss from The Juilliard School, where she has served as chief financial officer since 2021. At Juilliard, she was a senior member of the president's leadership team overseeing finance, budgeting, treasury, procurement, payroll, student accounts, financial aid, and enterprise systems. Among her accomplishments, she led a multi-year plan to address a $7 million structural deficit while preserving affordability and academic excellence; directed a $20 million enterprise systems modernization; established an Enterprise Risk Management framework; and developed the financial strategy to support a $550 million tuition-free endowment campaign. She also served as Juilliard's primary liaison with the Investment Committee and its outsourced chief investment officer, supporting governance and coordination for the school's $1.6 billion endowment.

Previously, Nadeau served as vice president of budget, financial planning, and analysis at New York University. Earlier in her career, she spent more than two decades at Xerox Corporation, where she led enterprise-wide transformation initiatives in senior leadership roles spanning finance, shared services, HR, IT, procurement, and supply chain.

Nadeau holds an MBA in finance from the University of Rochester, an M.S. in accounting from Université du Québec, and a B.B.A. in accounting from HEC Montréal. She is a certified public accountant and a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt. She currently lives in Wilton, CT, and looks forward to moving to Lakeville.
