Hotchkiss To Offer Rowing Co-Curricular This Spring

Co-Athletic directors Danny Smith and Robin Chandler ’87 are pleased to introduce rowing as a co-curricular offering beginning this spring. Initially, the rowing program will take place on Lake Washinee at Salisbury School, which has graciously offered to help with the start up. A search is currently underway for a coach. Co-Athletic Director Robin Chandler noted there is a lot of excitement  about the announcement. "Timing was right with increased student interest and other factors. We are pleased to be able to introduce rowing and expand our co-curricular offerings," she said.

The program will be open to boys and girls, and will include a co-ed boat. Both novice and experienced rowers are welcomed to participate. Teams will row “fours,” or four rowers per racing shell, and compete against private and public schools throughout New England. Please check back on our website for updates about this exciting new program.
