Speech and Debate Wins Top Prizes at International Competition

The Hotchkiss Speech and Debate team took home first- and second-place event trophies from their first international competition of the season.
Teo Everts '26, Shaye Lee '26, and Andrew Roraback '27 competed in the 2025 International Independent School Public Speaking Competition (IISPC) in Portland, Maine, from Oct. 17-19. The competition included 118 students from 37 schools and six countries.
All three Hotchkiss students advanced to the final round in at least one competition category. Andrew won first place in the extemporaneous speaking category, and Teo won second place in the parliamentary debate competition.
