Students Win Top Prizes in Piano Competitions

Hats off to two talented Hotchkiss pianists who recently won top awards. Kenny Zhang ’22 was the first prize winner as the Connecticut State Representative in the Music Teachers National Association 2021 Competition in Senior Piano. 

Zhang will represent Connecticut during the Eastern Division round in December, competing against winners from 11 states.

Tomoya Furutani ’23 was the second prize winner at the Nomea International Piano Competition 2021 and the third prize winner at Chopin Avenue International Piano Competition 2021.
