Thank you to all donors for contributing to Hotchkiss during the 2019-20 fiscal year. Your generosity resulted in over 3,500 donors to The Hotchkiss Fund, The Parents Fund, and various endowment and capital initiatives, raising over $10.3 million in total gift revenue in support of our students, faculty, staff, and programs.  

The 2019-20 annual campaign for The Hotchkiss Fund raised $5,877,449. Sue Green Roberson ’87, president of The Hotchkiss Fund, and Claudia and Gunnar Overstrom P’21, co-chairs of The Hotchkiss Parents Fund, led the volunteer efforts this past year.

Alumni giving to all funds reached 30% participation this year. A total of 2,519 Hotchkiss alumni donated $3,650,962 to The Hotchkiss Fund.  Parents of current students raised $1,856,756 for The Hotchkiss Parents Fund. Current parents also achieved an impressive 80% participation for the year. 

In its inaugural year, members of the True Blue Society, Hotchkiss’s program which recognizes alumni, current and past parents, grandparents, and friends who have supported the School for two or more consecutive years, were instrumental in helping The Hotchkiss Fund reach and surpass its goals. The renewed support of 2,666 members of the Society accounted for $7,948,615 or 77% of the $10.3 million raised overall.           

The success of this year’s fundraising efforts was largely due to the energy and dedication of more than 450 alumni, parents, grandparents, and friends who volunteered countless hours to raise funds for the School in a time of crisis. The remarkable outcomes that were achieved would not have been possible without the commitment of our volunteers to ensure the longevity and quality of the educational experience that Hotchkiss provides.

Head of School Craig Bradley expressed the School’s gratitude recently: "It is a difficult and uncertain time, and I take heart from and feel immense gratitude for the strength and goodness of the Hotchkiss community, near and far. The current economic conditions place pressure on our capacity to retain employees who create and sustain this very special learning community. Your choice to donate now helps us to assure the enduring excellence that defines Hotchkiss."
